Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Aircraft Technician to join our dynamic aerospace team. In this dual-role position, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing and integration processes, responsible for the precision structural assembly of aerospace vehicles and the sophisticated installation of their avionic systems. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Assembly & Fabrication:
Assemble major aircraft structures and perform minor part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
Align parts and assemblies on jigs, fixtures, and aerospace vehicles using templates and precision measuring tools.
Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, and other instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate engineering changes directly into the structure.
Monitor, verify, and document quality in accordance with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality assurance procedures.
Avionics Installation & Integration:
Install, route, and repair aircraft wiring harnesses and avionics components per technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Perform advanced wiring techniques, including soldering and crimping, to military/aerospace standards.
Utilize and maintain proficiency with avionics installation tooling, including spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and pitot-static test equipment.
Read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals, diagrams, and publications.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace structural assembly and avionics installation.
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in mechanical assembly techniques and precision measuring.
Advanced skills in wire routing, termination, soldering, and crimping.
Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
Tools: Must possess a comprehensive personal tool set in good working order.
Industry Knowledge: Proven background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, with experience working under standards typical of the US Department of Defense (DoD) or US Military.
Mindset: Strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a integrated team.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or familiarity with FCC standards and FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) .
Formal training or certification in aviation electronics or structural assembly.
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
